Lift Upgrade Programme (Batch 2)

The University of Canterbury has approximately 71 operational lifts of different kind in 40 buildings across the campus. Lifts can be essential for providing vertical circulation, particularly in tall buildings, for wheelchair and other non-ambulant building users and for the vertical transportation of goods.

With the establishment of the campus in the 1970, some of the early lifts are due to an upgrade for motors, drives and controllers. Our lift consultants have carried out a condition surveys on all lifts and prioritised necessary upgrades required across the campus. This RFP is reflective of the second batch of upgrades, these are to be carried out in 2026.
