Finch Hatton Mountain Bike Trail MTB Shuttle Bus Services

Mackay Regional Council (Council) is currently constructing approximately 95 kilometres of single-direction mountain bike trails in the Finch Hatton and Pioneer Valley region, west of Mackay, Queensland. Construction of Stage 1 is complete and opened to the public in December 2023. Stage 1 includes a purpose-built trailhead site, pump track and 13.5 kilometres of airflow trails, including one climbing trail.

The opportunity exists for the network to be directly serviced by commercial shuttle operator/s, delivering riders to the drop-off zone at the high point of the Stage 1 Shuttle Access Road (SAR1). The SAR1 will be gated and only accessible by permitted vehicles (no public access), as managed by Council.

Council is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified/experienced personnel to provide mountain bike shuttle services on the SAR1. Council intends to approve a shuttle operator to provide this service. It is anticipated that approval will be for a period of 12 months, however Council will consider longer periods if warranted.
