Dulverton Waste Management Treatment Line Modification

Background

Dulverton Waste Management own and operate an organic composting facility at 145 Dawsons Siding Road, Latrobe, Tasmania. The facility was constructed to shred, decontaminate, mix, and compost 50,000tpa of organic waste material to produce and store approximately 16,000tpa of compost.

The Principal has determined the need for some process optimisation associated with the organic waste pre-treatment, predominantly in relation to contamination reduction.

This Scope of Works involves the implementation of the Principals proposed facility modifications.

Project Overview

Dulverton Waste Management wishes to modify its existing pre-treatment arrangement by relocating the existing picking station at the Dulverton Organic Waste Treatment Facility from after the star screen to before the shredder. DWM has already completed stage 1 to remove the picking station from inside the building. This proposal presents stage 2 and seeks to have the picking station reinstalled at a location around the northwest corner of the receival hall between the building and the fire water tanks.

To facilitate this, a new receival area and feed arrangement into the picking station is required on the western side of the building to the north of the existing external concrete hardstand utilised to unload waste into the facility. In addition, a transfer arrangement is required to feed the discharge from the picking station into the shredder.
