Harrys Creek Rd – Roadworks, Culvert Replacement and Associated Works

Strathbogie Shire Council is seeking suitably experienced suppliers to fulfil Contract 25-26-39 - Harrys Creek Rd – Roadworks, Culvert Replacement and Associated Works.

During the 2022 flood event (AGRN 1037), Harrys Creek Road sustained significant damage resulting in embankment failure and undermining of the existing culvert infrastructure at approximately E387056 / N5933628 (Defect 45733).

Floodwaters overtopped and eroded the downstream batter, destabilising the roadway formation and compromising the existing drainage asset. The damage was assessed as eligible under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA), and funding has been secured to undertake permanent restoration works.

The site is located on a rural section of Harrys Creek Road, Violet Town, where steep existing batters and concentrated flow paths contributed to scour and progressive slope instability during the flood event.

All works in this specification are to be carried out in conjunction with the tender documentation. The whole of the works is to be carried out under this Contract shall conform to the requirements of this specification, and the AS 4000 - General Conditions of Contract, and shall be carried out under the direction and to the satisfaction of the Shire Superintendent.

Council reserves the right to award all, or portion of the works set out in this specification to the successful tenderer at its absolute discretion.
