RFP - Waione Street Bridge Maintenance

The Waione Street Bridge is a critical component of Hutt City’s transport network providing a critical connection across the Hutt River between Petone and Seaview.

The bridge is a 5-span, 160m long bridge with two 9m land spans at each abutment. The bridge piers and abutment a constructed from reinforced concrete with post-tensioned I-girders as the primary spanning elements.

We require a suitably experienced Contractor to undertaken maintenance works on the underside of the bridge.

The maintenance work primarily consists of application of a Silane based treatment to concrete elements of the bridge, and minor crack repair and spall remediation to extend the bridge’s operational lifespan.

This is an opportunity to carry out important work on critical infrastructure, protecting the safety and connectivity of Hutt City’s transport resilience while protecting the Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington Harbour) environment.
