Westport Seagrass Restoration Trials

⁠⁠⁠Westport, on behalf of the Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure, will approach the market to procure multiple Seagrass Restoration providers for a seagrass planting trial in Cockburn Sound for the Westport Program.

The Seagrass Restoration project will seek to:

• Engage providers of various mature Seagrass Restoration methodologies for a trial commencing summer 2026 (Trial 1); and
• Seek emerging Seagrass Restoration innovative solutions to collaborate with for a second trial planned in summer 2027 (Trial 2).

Site Visit

A site visit will be held at Palm Beach Boat Ramp (West), Rockingham on 21 April, 2026 10:00 AM.

Non-Mandatory Site Visit and Briefing:

Westport will hold a non-mandatory site visit and briefing for the Westport Seagrass Innovation Trial on Tuesday 21 April 2026 at 10:00am AWST. This site visit will be held at the Rotary Park Car Park adjacent to Palm Beach Boat Ramp (West), Rockingham. The purpose of the site visit and briefing is for a general orientation and to provide an explanation of the procurement process and RFP documentation. There will also be an opportunity for respondents to ask questions, with answers published via an addendum after the briefing. Please wear enclosed shoes and sun protection. Please note this a non-mandatory site visit and briefing meaning attendance is not required. However, it is highly recommended that if you intend on submitting a proposal that you should attend if you are able.
