Torres Shire Council is seeking submissions from suitable suppliers for scrap metal transport from Thursday Island to Horn Island landfill. The project is expected to commence between March and April 2026 with cross harbour logistics needing to be engaged within this time frame. Council is requesting quotations from suitable suppliers to transport compacted/ baled vehicles loaded on to 2 tilt trays cross harbour between Thursday Island and Horn Island.
