QE Park Swing Bridge Upgrade 2026

Masterton District Council (MDC) are inviting suitably qualified contractors to deliver the upgrade of the QE Park swingbridge over the Waipoua River.

The Contract Works includes, but is not limited to:

• Review the Maintenance Plan provided and undertake independent inspections and assessments of the structure to confirm condition, identify defects, and determine the extent of maintenance works and component upgrades required.
• Where bridge components (including, but not limited to, bridge decks) are new or assessed as being in good condition, these may be considered for retention and reuse. Tenderers shall undertake their own condition assessments and exercise professional judgement in determining the suitability of any components proposed for reuse.
• Prepare and submit a Structure Options Report (SOR) outlining the proposed maintenance and upgrade strategy.
• Carry out proposed physical maintenance and upgrade works on the swingbridge and agreed with the Engineer.
• All other associated works.
