Mulwala Water Treatment Plant - Repair of Sedimentation Tank and Filter Structure

From the merger of Corowa Shire with the neighboring Urana Shire.

Council’s LGA comprises over 5,000 square kilometres and covers the main urban areas of Corowa, Mulwala and Howlong and some smaller surrounding cropping and pastoral regions to the north such as Urana.

The repair works to be carried out at the Mulwala Water Treatment Plant (WTP), as outlined below:

Site Brief Description

Mulwala Water Treatment Plant (WTP)

The WTP is located near the Mulwala town. Raw water is drawn from the Lake Mulwala and pumped to the WTP. Treated water is then supplied to the residents in Mulwala.

The existing Sedimentation Tank and Filter Structure has visible cracks, and water can be seen dripping from cracks.

The scope of works shall include, but not limited to, site investigation, supply, installation, testing, demonstration, and commissioning of all components in accordance with the requirements of the Contract Documents, this Specification and as shown on the sketches and /or photographs.

General requirements include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Liaison with Council’s Principal’s Authorised Person, and service utilities providers, as required.

• Site investigation to gather necessary information to complete design, supply, and installation works.

• The Contractor shall allow one day (13th Feb 2026) with the Council’s personnel to visit site.

• Clearing of site as appropriate.

• Provision and maintenance of temporary fencing for prevention of unauthorised persons into the sites if required.

• Provide safe handling and storage of all material, machinery and equipment brought to the sites.

• Carry out Testing and Commissioning of the Works.

• Prepare Work as Executed Drawings (WAE), if any major changes to the structure are made.
