Tender Description

Overview

This project aims to provide critical facilities and infrastructure as the first step of the optimal pathway to a sovereign nuclear-powered submarine capability to achieve an initial level of capability for Submarine Rotational Force - West (SRF-W) and the AUKUS partnership.

Works will include infrastructure and facilities broadly described as follows:

  • Upgrades to infrastructure including communications services and high voltage power.
  • Refurbishment of existing facilities.
  • Construction of new facilities.
In order to meet the operational program, the procurement process has progressed and several work packages have been awarded. However, opportunities still exist for companies to secure work and Lendlease (the Managing Contractor) hereby invites interested parties to submit capability statements in relation to the work packages listed below.

Project Objectives:

  • deliver fit for purpose facilities and infrastructure
  • meet the operational program
  • deliver solutions that are compliant and align to the developing regulatory framework and industry standards
  • deliver high quality works in line with best industry standards which provide value for money
  • maximise scope (and in turn, Defence capability outcomes) within the Target Cost
  • work collaboratively with all stakeholders
  • actively encourage local industry and indigenous participation
  • achieve exceptional performance measured by stakeholder satisfaction, cost, time, quality, whole of life and environmentally sustainable development performance
  • minimise disruption to Navy and Base operations
  • promote high standards of work health and safety and environmental performance
Indicative Timing

  • Commencement of construction - Q4 2025
  • Completion of construction - Q4 2027
