Tender Description
The National Museum of Australia (NMA) is a Commonwealth corporate entity established under the National Museum of Australia Act 1980 (Cth). It currently occupies a building on Acton Peninsula and leases a number of premises in Mitchell, ACT for the storage of collection items. The NMA is responsible for developing and preserving a national collection that deepens public understanding of Australia’s history and culture. To achieve this, the NMA depends on a number of core operational functions, with appropriate and secure storage premises forming a critical part of this foundation.
The NMA is seeking expressions of interest from interested parties willing to enter into a long-term lease for the provision of a suitable storage premises for the storage of collection items. The storage premises will be located in the industrial area of Mitchell, ACT.

The NMA has prepared a document titled National Museum of Australia New Collections Storage - Functional Design Brief (FDB) (Confidential Attachment A).
The FDB sets out the key functional and performance requirements for the storage premises.
The NMA is seeking submissions from Respondents that can deliver the requirements outlined in the FDB either by adapting an existing structure or by constructing a new purpose-built premises or extension to an existing premises.
In order to obtain a copy of the FDB, Respondents must first provide the NMA with an executed confidentiality deed in the form of Attachment B, by sending the executed confidentiality deed by email to the Contact Officer at csprocurement@nma.gov.au.
Once the executed confidentiality deed is provided, the FDB will be provided to the Respondents by return email. Respondents will not be able to respond to this Request for Expressions of Interest (REOI) without a copy of the FDB.
