Overview
If you’re a primary producer based in a disaster-affected Local Government Area (LGA), you may be eligible for freight subsidy disaster assistance.
This assistance is jointly funded by the Commonwealth and Northern Territory governments under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements.

What can be funded
You can apply for a grant of up to $5,000 to cover up to 50% of emergency transport freight costs associated with:
- moving emergency fodder or water for livestock
- removal of stock from the affected area
- replacement of buildings for livestock
- fencing repairs
- machinery and equipment associated with livestock
- replace animals lost from the event
Who can apply
Primary producers impacted by Severe Tropical Cyclone Fina (November 2025) in the local government areas (LGA) of:
- Belyuen
- Coomalie
- Darwin
- Palmerston
- Tiwi Islands
- Wagait
- West Arnhem
