Project goals

Powerhouse Publishing develops and delivers a diverse and ambitious program of publications that reflect the museum’s curatorial, research, collection, and program priorities. The 2025/26 publishing slate focuses on major exhibition publications supporting the opening of Powerhouse Parramatta in late 2026.

As part of this program, Powerhouse Publishing is producing the Australian Culinary Archive publication to coincide with the opening of Powerhouse Parramatta. Now nearing completion, the project seeks to engage a suitably qualified Editorial Advisor to finalise and prepare the publication for print, ensuring its accuracy, consistency, and overall editorial excellence.

Scope

The scope of services includes:

• Final copyediting (as required) for consistency in tone, grammar, style, and adherence to publication guidelines.
• Assisting with the proofreading of final designed layouts prior to publication to ensure accuracy.
• Liaising with interview subjects on any final changes to biographical information or transcript inclusions.
• Assisting with finalising a select number of complex rights and permissions.
• Liaising with Powerhouse publishing team to clarify/finalise content and maintain production schedules.

In line with the production schedule and available budget for this engagement. It is envisaged that the supplier will be engaged for approx. 20 hours per week for a period of 12 weeks from mid-January.

• Outline of your proposed approach to deliver the scope of work outlined in this brief.
• Provide a lump sum fee and day rate for the services outlined within this brief 20 hours per week for a period of 12 weeks from mid-January, including superannuation if applicable and excluding GST.
