Kaeo Stage 2

The Kaeo Phase 2 Flood Mitigation Project involves the construction of flood mitigation measures aimed at reducing flood risk within Kaeo Township. The primary works include the excavation and realignment of the Kaeo River and Waikare Creek confluence to enhance water flow capacity and mitigate flood levels. The construction works are segmented into two main phases. Construction Phase 1 entails building the channel from CH140 to CH530 and the stopbank from CH180 to CH440. Construction Phase 2 involves completing the remaining sections of the channel, stopbank and decommissioning a portion of the Kaeo River, which includes the infill construction.
