Design and Construction of Street Lighting for Pedestrian Crossings at the Sports and Entertainment

⁠⁠⁠Tamworth Regional Council (TRC) is seeking tenders from suitably experienced contractors for Tender No. T020-2026, for the Design and Construction of Street Lighting for Pedestrian Crossings at the Sports and Entertainment Precinct, Tamworth

This tender is a Quality Assurance contract with method of payment being Lump Sum.

The scope of work comprises design and construction of street lighting for three sites close together in Hillvue. The lighting is to be a Council asset and not connected to the Essential Energy network.

Lighting is required at the following locations:

• Jack Smyth Drive and The Ringers Road roundabout; 4 wombat crossings
• The Ringers Road near Greg Norman Drive; 1 pedestrian refuge
• The Ringers Road and Longyard Drive roundabout; 2 wombat crossings, 1 zebra crossing, and optional item for a speed hump
• Longyard Drive; 1 wombat crossing

The works include:

• confirmation that the suggested electrical sources are suitable
• appropriate connections from the respective electrical source to the street lighting
• the design, supply, installation and commissioning of street lighting
• all associated works

The location is a high-profile precinct which can be very busy when events are held. Traffic and pedestrian management is particularly important, as well as scheduling activities to work in with events held in the Precinct. Works need to be completed by 31 March 2026. There will be civil construction at the same locations taking place within a similar timeframe.

Tenderers must attend the compulsory pre-tender briefing to be considered for this tender.

Council is not bound to accept the lowest or any submission and anyone who directly or indirectly canvasses support from an elected member or servant of the Council will be disqualified.
