Mackerel Beach Wharf Upgrade

SERVICE REQUIRED:

Northern Beaches Council (Council) invites tenders for the carrying out and completion of major works that includes the following:

- Partial demolition of the existing wharf and its timber and structural elements, including complete demolition of the existing wharf head.

- Reconstruction of approximately 25m section of existing wharf with wider decking to allow for installation of waste bin storage area and reinstatement of wharf dinghy moorings.

- Extension of the wharf by approximately 40m through a series of fixed ramps and landings to provide Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (DDA) compliant ferry access at all levels of the tide, with stepped access between each landing.

- Ensure the public wharf remains operational by implementing a temporary ferry berthing structure or adopting a staged demolition and construction approach to maintain continued use of the wharf.

SITE BRIEFING:

A formal site briefing will not be conducted. Tenderers may, at their own cost and discretion, access the site via private or public boat to assess site conditions, the existing wharf, and current boating operations.
