Tender Description
Overview
The 2022-2023 Queensland State Budget announced an expansive capital program of major new hospital projects and refurbishments by Queensland Health. The capital program coincided with a significant change to a centralised delivery model, which facilitates closer and more effective coordination with industry via the Health Capital Division (HCD).As a single program of work, the Capacity Expansion Program (CEP) is the largest health infrastructure program in Queensland's history.
As part of the CEP, this project was awarded to establish a new Hospital at Coomera which comprises the following:
Clinical Hospital Building - approximately 63,000m2
12 storey Main Hospital Building;
- 11 Department Levels, approximately 7000 m2 from Lower Ground reducing to approximately 4000 m2 at Level 6;
- Lower Ground Level - Emergency, Satellite Imaging, Short Stay Unit, Transit and Administration;
- Ground FOH - Outpatients, Pharmacy and Medical Imaging;
- Level 1 - Outpatients, Allied Health, Clinical Investigations, Administration, Staff Amenities, CSSD and Plant;
- Level 2 - Operating Theatres, Theatre Staff, Birthing Suites and Maternity Assessment Centre;
- Level 3 - Mental Health Inpatient Unit, ICU, Administration and Plant;
- Level 4 - GEM Inpatient Unit, Rehabilitation Areas, Inpatient Unit, Education and Training
- Level 5 - Maternity Suites, Paediatric Inpatient Unit and NICU;
- Level 6 - Surgical Inpatient Unit and Palliative Care Inpatient Unit;
- Level 7 - Surgical Inpatient Unit, Critical Care and Cardiology Inpatient Unit;
- Level 8 and 9 - Surgical Inpatient Until; and
- Level 10 - Plant Areas.
Facility Support Centre (FSC) - approximately 10,000 m2
5 Storey Facility Support Centre
- Lower Ground - Loading Dock, Mortuary, BEMS, Plant, and Med Gas Store
- Ground - Pathology Labs and Plant
- Level 1 - Bulk Store, Equip Store, ICT and Administration
- Level 2 - Kitchen
- Level 3 - Plant; and
- Link bridge connections to Main Hospital Building.
Crisis Stabilisation Unit (CSU) - 750m2
Stand alone, lightweight building (location to be finalised)
- Providing mental health services.
The Project is being delivered by Multiplex as a single stage, with handover as shown in the Head Contract Programme.
