Tender Description
Flinders Council seeks to engage suitable applicants to tender for the pavement upgrade through insitu stabilisation, and sealing of approximately 6.5kms of Palana Road on Flinders Island
The Tasmanian Government committed to work with Flinders Council to upgrade priority sections of Palana Road. Flinders Council has identified the section of Palana Road between the intersection of Palana Road and Fairhaven Road through to the intersection of Palana Road and Five Mile Jim Road, approximately 6.5km, as a priority section to upgrade.
Palana Road forms part of the B85 which is the main north-south thoroughfare on Flinders Island. The B85 essentially runs along the spine of Flinders Island and services all the small Island communities.
A portion of the B85 is managed by Department of State Growth, however, the unsealed section to be sealed as per this tender is owned and managed by Council.
