Tender Description
This contract is for the Marton Dam Spillway - Emergency Repair, which requires the following;
- Engage a geophysics specialist to carry out a Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) mapping exercise over the full spillway channel to determine if voids under the spillway can be detected and mapped in order to prevent unnecessary drilling and to concentrate efforts on the areas of most damage.
- Carry out a verification exercise to ascertain if GPR detected voids and areas of good concrete/ foundation contact are present by coring.
- Carry out a trial grouting exercise.
- Pressure clean the spillway channel of all vegetation and loose material.
- Drill through spillway base slab, record depths of voids and pour grout under low
- pressure to fill voids.
- Drill through spillway side walls, record depths of voids and pour grout under low
- pressure to fill voids.
- Carry out repairs to damaged areas of concrete, open spillway joints and cracks.
