Tender Description

Overview

Gilgandra Shire Council is seeking a consultant to develop a masterplan document for the Cooee Lodge Retirement Village.

About

The Gilgandra local government area is situated in the central west of NSW and covers an area of 4,800 square kilometres, including the township of Gilgandra and three smaller villages of Tooraweenah, Armatree and Curban. Gilgandra is located on the junction of the Newell, Oxley and Castlereagh Highways, 432 km north-west of Sydney and 60 km north of Dubbo, approximately halfway on the inland route from Melbourne to Brisbane.

Scope

The scope includes:

  • Collating, reviewing and developing specific elements of the Cooee Lodge Retirement Village (CLRV) Masterplan to achieve on-ground impact for housing availability, diversity and permissibility
  • Developing a place-based response catering to an increasingly aged population
  • Developing the CLRV Masterplan in tandem with the Council's internal review of the current LEP and DCP, ensuring the revised planning controls are tested and considered against a real example for future implementation
  • Ensuring the Masterplan is modern and reflective of community needs and design principles
