⁠⁠⁠Request for Tender RFT 25-26-01 Meekatharra Local Post Office Management

Scope:

As part of any agreement / contract, the Shire will provide, although may not necessarily be limited to, the following – 

• Licence ownership payments for the Business which are held by the Shire, 
• Payments to the Appointed Manager during business unavailability, 
• Supply of the Business premises, free of charge, 
• Supply of the Business premises utilities, free of charge, 
• Supply of housing (if required), free of charge, 
• Supply of housing utilities (if required), free of charge. 

The Business operates as a combined postal, lotto, and newsagency, and supplies a range of everyday services to the community. 

Services include, although are not limited to, – 

• Parcel and mail distribution (domestic and international parcel send, express post shipping, and mail hold / redirection), 
• Banking and financials (bank@post services for several financial institutions which include deposits, withdrawals, and bill payments), 
• Identity and travel (passport applications and renewal, identity checks, and working with children checks), 
• Business supplies (packaging materials, stamps, and postal box leasing), 
• Official draw games (sale of official lotto tickets for games like Saturday Lotto, Monday and Wednesday Lotto, Oz Lotto, Powerball, Set for Life, and Cash 3), 
• Instant Scratchies (sale of instant scratch-off tickets), and 
• Stationery and gifts (greeting cards, wrapping paper, and general stationery). 

This Request for Tender is for the management of the Meekatharra Local Post Office.

The deadline for tenders to be submitted is 4:00pm Thursday 16 July 2026.

There is no obligation on the Shire of Meekatharra to accept any tenders. Canvassing of Councillors or Shire Officers will disqualify Tenderers from further consideration.
