Background
Australian Pork Limited (APL) is the national representative body for Australian pork producers. APL is a producer-owned not-for-profit company combining marketing, export development, research, innovation, and strategic policy development to assist in securing a profitable and sustainable future for the Australian pork industry. It is one of 15 rural research and development corporations (RDCs) providing research to Australian agriculture.
A current priority for Australian pork industry is to enhance the industry’s rate of genetic improvement while maintaining it’s current, or better, herd health status.
Current project - A comprehensive cost: benefit production analysis of the impacts of increasing sow litter size in the Australian pork industry
APL is seeking proposals on a comprehensive cost: benefit production analysis of the impacts of increasing sow litter size. Proposals should;
- Demonstrate strong industry wide consultation.
- Consider the implications of an increase in litter size across the supply chain.
- Be completed within a 12-month timeframe.
