Gardens House F&B / Functions Licence

⁠⁠⁠Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria (RBGV) invites Expressions of Interest for the exclusive operation of Gardens House and the lawns within its boundary for functions and events.

Gardens House represents a high‑value opportunity within one of Melbourne’s most iconic settings, underpinned by strong existing demand and clear potential for further commercial growth.

The base licence includes:

• Exclusive operation of Gardens House and the lawns within its boundary

• Installation of one temporary marquee structure on up to two occasions per year, for a combined installation period of nine weeks.

• Subject to approval from Heritage Victoria, RBGV will extend the allowable marquee activation period to a continuous five‑month installation window from Nov-Mar annually.

RBGV believes there is a strong opportunity to enhance the Gardens House precinct through the creation of a new reversible, semi‑permanent structure.

RBGV is actively progressing the required approvals to support the installation of a semi‑permanent marquee solution that would remain in place for the term of the Licence , while retaining the flexibility and relatively rapid installation and removal associated with temporary structures.

Respondents are requested to specify whether they have the capacity and willingness to invest capital in the design, installation, and ongoing maintenance of this reversible structure as part of their submission.
