Tender Description

The VET (WA) Ministerial Corporation through the Department of Training and Workforce Development (“State Party”) is inviting eligible organisations to apply for grant funding under Round Three for the development and/or delivery of training products that address a skilling or re-skilling need within the defence industry.

Scope: 

The purpose of the DIRU Grant Program is to enable reskilling of new entrants as well as supporting the upskilling of existing workers in defence enterprises. Through consultation with the defence industry, it was identified that reskilling and upskilling workers would be important for Western Australia (WA) to meet its defence industry workforce needs, especially as the State looks to diversify its economy by expanding activity in the sector. The program is targeting defence industry specific products that have the support of a WA education or training provider.

The grant program scope is for an industry and educational institution partnership to consider a program of work that addresses a skilling or re-skilling need within the defence industry to involve one of the following options:

• Develop new, or customise existing, credit bearing micro-credentials, accredited short courses, relevant Industry 4.0 products and/or skill sets;

• Deliver new, or customised existing credit bearing micro-credentials, accredited short courses, relevant Industry 4.0 products and/or skill sets; and/or

• Develop and deliver new, or customised existing, credit bearing micro-credentials, accredited short courses, relevant Industry 4.0 products and/or skill sets.

Funding totalling $2.75 million (GST inclusive) is anticipated to be made available over three (3) financial years to provide grants to reskill and upskill defence industry workers.
