EOI - Steel Structures

The Works under the Contract must include, but not limited to:

• Preliminaries, including provision, installation and removal of Contractor's own Site facilities in accordance with the requirements of the Contractor's EBA and with statutory requirements;
• Transportation of the Corporation's assets from the Corporation's storage yard to Albert Park, unpacking the assets at the location on site and installing these in accordance with the plans and specifications contained within this Specification. The Contractor must note that the precedent for loading and unloading of assets at the Corporation's storage yard is carried out by AGPC personnel. However, the Contractor must coordinate the timing of loading and unloading around the agreed delivery schedule with the Yard Manager and/ or designate;
• The Contractor must inspect and report on the condition of each of the assets prior to them leaving the Corporations storage yard. Any damage should be reported to the superintendent so that rectification works can be done prior to the steel structures arriving on site, or in conjunction with their installation;
• Contractor is responsible for the preparatory works required for the install and dismantle of
• provision of survey coordinates or surveying set out of all Works;
• excavations associated with exposing permanent footings for the installation and dismantle phases of the works;
• backfilling of the excavations for permanent footings as required following installation and the dismantle of the works;
• prior lo backfilling, the provision of appropriate protection of the bolts;
• positioning and levelling of the temporary footings; and
• provision of construction/works area fencing around all Overpass works, including any Overpass footing excavation works.
• Installation, dismantle and removal of the following:
• seven (8) pedestrian over track overpasses (OP1-0P8,);
• one (1) pedestrian over road overpass (Queens Rd Overpass)
• three (3) over track signage structures;
• one (1) starting lights gantry;
• the starters platform:
• the press photographers platform;
• the Paddock Club superscreen support structure;
• temporary footings, poles extensions and cantilever support arms for CCTV system; and Repeater Light
• Provision of standby crew during Event period for maintenance and rectification
• The Contractor must ensure that all the Corporation owned clearance signs and warning lights are to be installed prior lo craning any applicable infrastructure into position. The wiring of signs and lights does not form part of this Contract directly however, the Contractor must liaise with the Electrical Works Contractor and Superintendent to ensure this work is completed as necessary.
• Contractor is responsible for the organisation, management and cost of Traffic Management required to perform its scope of works safely.
• This relates to specific works outside of full road closures i.e. Lakeside or Aughtie Drive (coordinated by others i.e. Traffic Management Contractor);
• Localised traffic management at/around specific location of works may still be required at Contractor expense to safely conduct works during road closures as there is still localised worksite traffic.
